The team at Raithwaite Estate (Yorkshire) asked me to design a full page advert to feature in 2014′s Yorkshire Bride.
The brief stated that the advert was to be ‘more visual’ with less emphasis on text. (Images and copy were provided). So, I wanted to ensure there was one main image to draw the reader’s eye straight away and then follow down to the text below.
I added a gradient fade on the large image which dipped into the text and I put an inner glow on the three images along the bottom of the advert to makes them softer and more gentle. The footer with the Estate’s contact details also had a gradient fade, this time to the right so I could include the gold logo so it could be clearly seen. This fade also replicates that of the main advert image. Lovely!
An A5 landscape version of the advert was requested shortly after Raithwaite’s receipt of the portrait artwork.
I later was asked to create a banner-style advert to promote Christmas-time at Raithwaite Estate. This advert was featured in the local press.
I was provided with the copy, logo and image of the Keep (at Raithwaite); I simply selected the Christmas image and an appropriate typeface.
Newspaper printing is notoriously difficult! So I ensured the design and the layout were as simple as possible (in columns). The font is open, clear and clean so printed well(!) and the text is right aligned to draw focus to the main image of the Keep.
A simple Christmassy message was asked for by Raithwaite Estate in November 2013 in order to embed within an email to send to their customers and business contacts to wish them a Merry Christmas!
Joseph (Sales Manager) had the perfect image of the Estate covered in snow – absolutely wonderful to showcase the festive spirit at Raithwaite!
A simple image and message is a great (and cheap!) way to communicate with your customer database – send me an email if you’d like me to design one for your business.
