Working with website design company, Pixel Cellar, I was asked to create a logo for technology firm igroup (Gerrard’s Cross, Buckinghamshire).
The client was looking for a logo which was not too different from their original (as they wished to be recognisable), however, they realised the need for change.
So, the brief was to create three design concepts, not too radical a change from their existing logo. They wanted to keep a shade of orange for their new logo – and they wanted to keep their strapline.
I came up with three designs, as requested. The selected design is shown first, along with the guidelines, as well as the two other concepts.
This logo concept maintains the circlular design of the current logo – which is great for keeping the instant recognition of the company’s brand.
However, elements such as the white font, which is rounded for the business name with a ‘friendly’ and ‘handwritten’ font for the tagline gives the impression of being contemporary – perfect for a company in the technology sector.
The use of ‘flat’ design with solid colour addresses their concern of poor printing but the use of an inner glow used on the circle brightens the image.
The orange I used was a vibrant yellow/orange.
