After meeting with two of the lovely girls from Catholic Children’s Society (Birkenhead, Wirral) (- thanks to Kurt from Vigo IT Solutions for the referral!), I took a brief for a brand new website.
The theme is very clean and grid-like. This sat extremely well with the website architecture.
I designed the ‘Home’ page slider artwork for the four services which we picked out to highlight, which incorporated the colourful blocks as a bottom border. Initially, I did search for stock images to place in the slider but I couldn’t see any which were suitable and which fitted with each individual service – and the organisation as a whole. The graphics I designed were warm and used calm colours, in keeping with the values of the organisation.
Under this slide features excerpts from the four services which each slider depicts. Sitting under here is the organisation’s tag line. Below to the left is the ‘Partners’ section with logos and to the right is ‘From The Blog’. The footer displays the mission statement, the donate button and the address details.
The current website had an ‘under construction’ landing page so I wasn’t able to glean any information straight from the previous site. However, Anne and Mary did provide me with lots of leaflets and internal documents from which I was able to reword and incorporate into the website.
Throughout the website, I’ve used accordians to separate the content in order to make it easier for the reader to digest. It also looks a little prettier!
The sidebar on each page features the donate button (which goes straight to their Virgin Giving page), a custom menu and social media icons – perfect additions to make the site more interesting and dynamic.
